Abstract

Population of bacteria s essential for human life. The whole bacterial repertory of the human gut microbiota is still unknown despite substantial culture and sequencing efforts. Within the medical domain, metagenomics emerges as a novel viewpoint delving into the intricate network of microbial existence both within and outside of human bodies. This genomic study transcends the traditional diagnostic boundaries and offers a comprehensive image of the collective genetic landscapes dwelling in many situations, most notably the human body. Metagenomics offers insight into the gut microbiome and serves as a guide through the complex network of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Through the use of this lens, the enigmatic relationships between microbial diversity and health may be deciphered, offering valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms behind illnesses ranging from gastrointestinal problems to autoimmune diseases. The goal of this review is to show how metagenomics may be an effective method for investigating the human gut microbiota with a promising future. It also focuses on the challenges that metagenomics faces.
